Ayurvedic Consultation in Barcelona

Some people arrive at the consultation after months — sometimes years — trying things that never quite work. Treatments, supplements, dietary changes. Something improves for a while, but balance never really comes.
Others are referred by their psychologist or doctor, who know Narayan's work and recognise that something isn't being resolved by conventional medicine alone.
And some simply feel their body has been trying to tell them something they haven't yet been able to read.
The Ayurvedic consultation is for all three. You don't need to know anything about Ayurveda to begin.
What happens in the consultation?
In one hour, Narayan Yadav listen carefully, observes with precision, and offers a coherent picture of what's happening in your body — from a perspective you've most likely never encountered before.
Ayurveda doesn't work with isolated symptoms. It works with patterns. With the way your nervous system, your digestion and your emotional state influence each other. With what has been accumulating over time.
During the session, the following are assessed:
Your individual constitution (Prakriti) — the baseline nature you were born with, which determines how you respond to stress, how your body digests, how you sleep.
Your current state (Vikriti) — how you are now, what has changed, what is out of balance.
Nadi Pariksha — traditional Ayurvedic pulse reading. Through the radial pulse, Narayan can identify the state of the doshas and patterns of imbalance that don't always surface through conversation alone. It is one of the most refined diagnostic tools in classical Ayurveda, and takes years of practice to develop.
Your lifestyle, digestion, sleep, stress levels and daily routines.
By the end of the session, you have a clear map: what's happening, why, and what makes sense to do from here.
What comes out of the consultation?
A personalised Ayurvedic plan — not a generic protocol. Depending on your situation, this may include specific Ayurvedic sessions (Abhyanga, Shirodhara, Nasyam or others), dietary recommendations tailored to your constitution, adjustments to your daily routine, or a Panchakarma programme if the situation calls for it.
Narayan explains each recommendation clearly. You don't leave with a list of things to do without understanding why.
Who is it for?
For anyone who has been living with chronic stress, exhaustion or disrupted sleep and wants to understand it from a different perspective.
For anyone with slow digestion, heaviness or intestinal irregularity that hasn't found a clear explanation.
For anyone referred by a psychologist, doctor or other health professional.
For anyone who doesn't know Ayurveda and wants to understand whether it makes sense for their situation before committing to anything.

Frequently asked questions about the Ayurvedic consultation
-
The Ayurvedic consultation with Narayan Yadav, a BAMS graduate from Pune University, includes a full assessment of your constitution (Prakriti), your current imbalances (Vikriti) and, where relevant, a pulse reading (Nadi Pariksha). Based on this, a personalised Ayurvedic plan is designed for you.
-
The consultation lasts approximately one hour and costs 68€ in-person and 59€ online.
-
No special preparation is needed: there's no fasting, paperwork or questionnaire to complete beforehand. The most useful thing is to come with a clear sense of what brings you to the consultation — what you've been noticing, any imbalances or discomforts, or simply curiosity about Ayurveda. Describing this in detail helps Narayan guide the assessment.
Do I need to bring medical reports or test results? It's not essential. Some people bring them expecting them to be reviewed, but the Ayurvedic consultation isn't based on clinical interpretation of medical records — it's based on the traditional assessment of your constitution (Prakriti) and current imbalances (Vikriti). If you have medical information you feel is relevant, you're welcome to mention it verbally.
-
An assessment of your constitution and current imbalances, along with personalised recommendations that may include dietary guidance, lifestyle suggestions and, where appropriate, Ayurvedic sessions or a Panchakarma programme.
-
Usually, yes. About a month after the first consultation, a follow-up visit is typically scheduled to review progress and adjust the plan if needed — adapting sessions, dietary guidance or lifestyle recommendations based on how your body has responded.
-
It's not required, but it's recommended if you don't know your Ayurvedic constitution or aren't sure which session suits you best. For Panchakarma programmes, an initial consultation is always the first step.
-
No. Ayurveda as practised at Ayurveda Barcelona is positioned as complementary to conventional medicine, never as a substitute. People attending the consultation continue their regular medical care in parallel. If you have a diagnosed medical condition, it's important to continue following your healthcare professional's guidance.
-
Classical Ayurveda, applied by a trained practitioner, is generally considered a low-risk practice focused on restoring balance rather than aggressive intervention. That said, some sessions (such as Nasya or Panchakarma) have specific contraindications depending on health status, pregnancy or certain medical conditions — which is why an initial consultation helps determine what's appropriate in each case. If you're taking medication or have an active medical condition, it's recommended to mention this during the consultation.
-
There's no single answer — it depends on your goals and the initial assessment. Ayurveda Barcelona's approach favours fewer, longer and deeper sessions over a high number of short ones. Some people come for a one-off session (such as Abhyanga or Shirodhara), while others follow a multi-day Panchakarma programme or return periodically for maintenance sessions. The initial consultation and follow-up visit help define what pace makes sense for each person.
